The large Guilford subdivision proposed for Bryans Road may spell the beginning of the end for Charles County's last unspoiled Magnolia Bog. This plant community merits the rarest designation possible: globally imperiled, or "G1" as conservation biologists see it. A news story is here. The enormous subdivision would also spoil the rural character around the town of Bryans Road and increase traffic 60% on a Billingsley Road. Yet developers use traffic on this road as an excuse when they agitate for the costly Cross County Connector. More information on the Guilford project is here.
